Published Friday November 6th, 2009

The Campbellton Jr A Tigers twice surrendered the lead in their only game last week and ultimately lost their 11th game of the season, a league high in the maritime Junior A Hockey League.
The Tigers looked good in the early going in their game against the Bridgewater Lumberjacks on Oct 31 but the ghouls of Halloween soon cast their spell on the squad and sent the Tigers home with a 5-4 loss.
Evan Wright and Jared Hicks gave the hosts a 2-0 lead just seven minutes into the game with the Jacks scoring a powerplay tally to pull to within one by period's end.
Bridgewater then scored the only two goals of the second period to take a 3-2 lead.
Brett Bernard scored twice in just over two minutes half way through the third period to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead but another powerplay goal from the Lumberjacks with three minutes left tied the game. They won it with 1:23 left in the third.
Campbellton was once again the victim of penalties as the Lumberjacks went 3-7 with the extra attacker while the Tigers went 0-5.
Sam Renault got the start for the Tigers and turned away 32 shots in the loss while Lumberjacks goaltender Travis Hall was 37 of 41 in picking up the win.
A reported 444 fans were on hand to witness the game where Chris Caissy of Campbellton chipped in with three assists. Prior to Saturday's game, Tigers forward Nicholas Cyr played with an MJAHL all-star team in a pair of games against squads that are taking part in the 2009 World Jr A Challenge.
In his first game, Cyr collected an assist on the team's second goal of the night in a 6-5 shootout win over Team Canada East in Truro Oct. 29. Cyr did not take part in the shootout.
The next night in Amherst, Cyr scored a goal and added an assist in the team's convincing 5-4 win over Belarus.
Last night the Tigers were to play in Yarmouth against the Mariners but results were not available at press time. Tonight they are to play in Bridgewater.
The cats don't play again at home until next Friday (Nov. 13) when they take on the Mariners. The Tigers have picked up just one point for an overtime loss to go with nine losses in their last 10 games and currently sit with five points on one win, two overtime losses and a shootout loss in 15 games this season yet remarkably sit just six points or three wins out of a playoff spot behind the Dieppe Commandos who have played 16 games.
